Our breeding program is a lifelong commitment to improving both breeds, which we strive to achieve by earning titles in conformation and performance sports. Conformation titles are not just about looking pretty, they are the result of having dogs that meet the breed standard in appearance, structure, and temperament. It is not always possible to title every dog since some live in co-own homes and there is training involved in getting a dog "show ready", but we try to title the ones that live with us and our stud dogs.
Competing in performance sports is fun! Our companions have competed in agility, rally obedience, obedience, herding, flyball, disc, dock diving, scent work, and soon we will be racing! These events and titles prove our dogs have what they were bred to do, they can still work and have the correct temperament and drive to compete.
Many of them are Champions, some are Performance Stars, and a few are therapy dogs....but most importantly, they are all family! Some of our dogs live with us in Consecon, and others live with co-own families who have allowed us to keep them in our breeding programs while providing a lifelong, loving home environment. We could not do this without our co-own families for which we are very grateful!
All of our dogs live in the house and in the heated and air conditioned kennel, on a rotational basis, so that they all get the love and attention they need and deserve! We have a one acre fully fenced area for them to run and play every day and numerous smaller enclosures to ensure proper exercise and socialization. As you will see from the many photos... our dogs go with us on excursions and enjoy lots of activities!

Detailed info about the first 8 weeks is outlined further down on this page:
We review the information provided by you on your inquiry form. We consider your gender and colour preferences as well as your temperament preferences and lifestyle, when matching the pup. Around 5-6 weeks of age you are welcome to set up a time to visit and pick your “top 3”. As the puppies get to 8 weeks we will make sure the right temperament puppy is matched with the right family based on your lifestyle and the preferences you have provided. We want to make sure, above all, that the puppy and family are a good match. Regular puppy updates are given to the deposit holders throughout the 8 weeks. We also often put updates on Facebook and/or Instagram.
The Lagotto Romagnolo is considered extremely low shedding. The fur grows continuously and must be groomed regularly to prevent matting and upkeep for proper hygiene. It is recommended an adult dog be groomed professionally (or at home with professional grooming tools) every 6-12 weeks. Baths can be given as needed between grooms. The coat should be regularly combed/brushed especially as the coat gets longer. For a less high maintenance coat, keep the coat short by shaving more frequently. More details on grooming will be provided upon pick-up of your puppy.
During the first 8 weeks, pups are introduced to the sounds and sensory experience of bath time, blow dryer, nail trims, scissors, and clippers. It is highly recommended that the puppy receives their first grooming experience by 3 months of age. It is important for your puppy to experience a positive full groom several times in the first year of age to prevent fear and anxiety around grooming (clippers, scissors, bath, etc.). It is also important to expose your puppy to regular day-to-day grooming practices such as an at-home bath, combing and brushing, cleaning eye boogers, cleaning ears, touching inside the mouth, near the eyes, on the feet and tail.
